]]>We're a little over halfway through the first month of the year, and you may already be coming down from your "new year, new me" high you got when creating your 2021 goals. So how do you make sure you're able to stick to those same goals long term? Here's some tips on how to stay on track in 2021!
Some things are just easier when you have someone who goes through them with you! Which is why finding a friend or family member with their own goals they want to accomplish can be very beneficial in the long run. Create a plan to check in with each other on a schedule that works for the both of you. Whether that's daily, weekly, monthly etc. be sure that you're setting a meeting time in stone...or in your Google Calendar. Doing this helps maintain the idea that your goals are as important as everything else in your life, and require the same attention too.
Whether you have a goal to read 20 books in a year or perhaps you're looking to hit some new fitness milestones; logging the progress you make can aid in keeping you on track to reaching those goals by the end of the year. There's so many different ways to get creative when it comes to tracking progress. Using a cute journal, taking pictures to see physical changes or even video logs are fun ways to stay organized.
No plan is every perfect from beginning to end, and we have to be realistic in knowing that sometimes life does complicate things. It's never a bad idea to review and reevaluate the goals you've made for yourself when real life sets in. Some goals may seem like a great idea, but may be unattainable due to outside circumstances. You want to have goals you know you'll enjoy, and also will have time to complete day in and day out. Don't feel bad if somewhere along the way you have to make edits to your goals. It's important to remember the balancing act of new and old routines isn't easy. Keep revising those goals until you find the ones that make the most sense for you, and then keep showing up for them each day after that!
Did you know about 65% of the US population is made up of visual learners? Who know's maybe you're one of them! If so, creating a vision board somewhere in your home can be a great reminder of everything you want to achieve. Vision and mood boards have become very popular as of late, and can be beneficial when trying to compile your goals all in on place. Quotes, aesthetic photos, personal items, etc. are all great additions to a vision board.
We know you already know this, but you are an awesome woman who does not need the validation in order to know your worth in this world! Yes, setting new goals and going out to crush them feels great, but don't go doing this in vain because you don't believe your prior self was enough. You are enough at every stage or phase of your life! So if and when you do decide you want to take on some new challenges in the new year; make sure before you begin that you're doing it for the right reasons. The decision to change should be your choice, and your choice alone.

Chocolate Cooking Classes
Skip the boxed chocolates that everyone will buy this season and learn to make your own. Check out your local chocolate cooking classes. Sign up for a group or date-night class. You’ll have just as fun making the candy as you do eating them! (If chocolate classes aren’t available in your area, go for a regular cooking class. Still tons of fun and good food to enjoy.)
Brewery Tour
Are the two of your fans of unique beer? Check out a nearby brewery. The Grapevine Craft Brewery in Grapevine, TX offers a taproom and food truck schedule. Experience a fun date and find a new favorite beer.
Arcade Hour
Have a retro date night with a game of laser tag or air hockey at a nearby arcade. A little competition can be a lot of fun. Grab your tokens or game card and head to the Pac-Man machine.
At-Home Wine Tasting
Not in the mood to battle the restaurant crowds? We totally understand. Head to your local winery or just the corner grocery store and grab a few bottles of wine neither of you have tried. From sweet dessert wines to the dry whites, try something from each category. You get to drink wine at home may even find a new favorite.
Dance Class
Get off the couch and out of your comfort zone with a dance class. Pick something that’s fitting for you as a couple – ballroom, hip-hop, the Tango – and give it a try. You’ll work off the chocolates and maybe find a new hobby.
Roast Marshmallows
Is there really any better chocolate treat than a semi-melted smore? Light the fireplace, firepit in the backyard, or start a small bonfire. Stock up with plenty of graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate bars. Find the perfect roasting sticks and get cozy!
Make It Personal
If you’ve agreed that you’ll do valentines day gifts this year, but you’re sticking to a budget, a personalized gift is the perfect idea. A personalized pocket knife with your initials for him.

]]>Deciding on a custom tote bag isn’t that challenging. With all the color options and scripting detail, you can easily find a combination that matches your wedding colors and greets guests in a way that reflects you and your partner’s personalities. Deciding what to stuff in each bag, however, can be a little challenging. What do you give your wedding guests? Some wedding favors reflect the wedding theme – like personalized sunglasses for a beach wedding – while other gifts are handpicked by the couple as their favorite items. If you’re planning to surprise your guests with welcome tote bags, check out our themed goodies for inspiration on what to put inside.
Hometown Favorites
For out-of-town guests, a bag full of snacks and beverages that make your hometown unique is a great introduction to the area. Do you have a local brewery that makes a custom drink? Or maybe the locally owned bakery has a special recipe for a cookie you can only find in your hometown. Fill the tote with treats they’ll only find while visiting your zip code.
Couple’s Choice
Local or not, you know what you like! Create a wedding welcome bag with snacks that you and your partner love. Whether you load up on a Netflix and chill style weekend or the snacks are included in your bag wherever you go, create a tote filled with goodies hand selected by you and the groom.
Brave The Elements
Are you hosting an outdoor wedding with a beach ceremony? Hook your guests up with a pair of shades. For the barn wedding that will host an outdoor fire at the reception, create a smores pack with chocolate bars, marshmallows and graham crackers. If your cocktail hour features a local bourbon, include personalized shot glasses in the tote so guests can sample the hometown flavors.
Movie Night
Not sure what to include in your wedding welcome tote? Everyone loves late-night snacks. Pack the bag full of your favorite movie candies, popcorn, and drinks. Your wedding tote will be the perfect favor when guests arrive home after the reception and want to enjoy a midnight snack.
Create a custom wedding tote bag for your guests by choosing a matching color and thinking of a fun word or saying for the front of the bag. No matter what you choose to fill the tote with, guests will be able to use the wedding favor long after your nuptials are official.
]]>You’re headed to the beach. You hear the horror stories of losing the diamond in the sand, never to be seen again, but even if the ring stays snuggly on your finger, the sand can cause major problems. The tiny grains of sand can get wedged under the diamond or in between the prongs. Plus, lathering up with SPF can cause your gem to lose its sparkle. While the beach is perfect for personalized towels or sunglasses, it’s not the place for your engagement ring.
The gym is calling your name. Hitting the treadmill to make sure your wedding dress fits just right on the big day? You may have the wedding on your mind, but be sure to remove the ring from your finger. Weight training is the biggest concern. The pressure from lifting weights can cause your band to bend. For pave’ bands, the small stones can be loosened to fall out.
It’s time to shower off the day. Slip your engagement ring off and keep it safely on a personalized ring dish while you clean up. Shampoo, conditioner, and other showering products can leave a film or buildup on your ring. While you may think the shower is the ideal place to add a little shine, the many products can actually dim the shimmer of your stone.
You’re swimming or relaxing in a hot tub. No one wants to search through the insects and trash in a pool filter to find an engagement ring, so leave the jewel inside if you’re planning a pool day or sitting in the hot tub. Plus, the chlorine and many other chemicals used to clean the water can quickly cause your ring’s metal to discolor or lose its luster.
The house needs to be cleaned. Even if you rely on green cleaning products, take off the ring before breaking out the sponges. There are many cleaning products and tools that could scratch the stone. The chemicals in a store-bought cleaner can also erode the finish and cause the gem to lose its polished shine.
When it’s time to take your engagement ring off, don’t lay it on the bathroom vanity or on top of your dresser. The last thing you want to do is fish your ring out of the toilet. Place your engagement ring in your personalized ring dish. You’ll have easy access and the ring stays brilliantly beautiful.

Create a mesh of your first, last, or nicknames. It may be basic, but it’s a good starting point to create a unique wedding hashtag. You want to choose something your guests will use, and your names are something everyone can remember. So, create your version of Brangelina or Bennifer as a hashtag based on your names.
If you can’t create anything super unique from your names, use numbers from your wedding date to make the hashtag special.
Get a little punny with synonyms, alliterations, and rhymes. A play on words is just what you need to create a memorable wedding hashtag.
Photos from the dancefloor may get posted after a few drinks, so you want to make sure your hashtag is easy to spell. If possible, avoid double letters, long or difficult words, and consider ways to shorten long names.
Use capital letters for each word to make it easier to read. Making it clear where each word begins and ends will help guests post photos with ease and read your wedding hashtag.
Before you launch your hashtag on social media and elsewhere, make sure it’s “available.” You don’t want to duplicate someone else’s hashtag. Once you create yours, search it on social media. If someone else’s wedding photos pop up, try rearranging your words or spelling it differently. You don’t want your wedding photos mixed in with another couple’s pictures.
Tell your wedding party when you’ve decided on a hashtag and encourage them to use it when they post about upcoming wedding events. Use the hashtag on your save the date cards, wedding website, and more. Encourage guests to use it when their snapping photos at the wedding and filling their social feeds with your nuptials.
If all else fails, use a wedding hashtag generator - a good one to use is on Shutterfly. Your wedding hashtag should be just as unique as you and your partner. It’s not just a great way to celebrate your coming wedding, but it makes it easier to collect all the memories captured by guests throughout the ceremony and reception.

]]>Most Stressful Part of Wedding Planning
The most stressful part, according to 35 percent of engaged couples: Simply getting it all done. Another 20 percent reported managing the guest list and RSVPs and 14 percent of couples said finding the right venue was the most stressful of the journey.
No matter which part of the wedding planning process gets you flustered, we’ve put together a list of tactics to destress. Whether you need to step away from planning altogether for a brief moment or allow the pros to handle some portions of the preparation, here are some simple ways to deal with wedding planning stress.
Wedding Planning De-stressors
Before you step into the decision-making process of creating your wedding day, consider some of our de-stressing ideas below.
Be realistic with your timeline. If you’re going to enjoy a long engagement with your partner, you have the luxury of time to plan each detail according to how you both want the day to look. If however, you’re planning for a wedding that’s 6 to 8 months out, you need to be realistic with your expectations. For example, if you’re set on a specific venue, you may need to be flexible with your wedding date to ensure you can rent the space.
Take a non-wedding planning date. In the middle of planning for your future, it can be easy to forget about the present. Keep your relationship and your partner as the top priority by planning a date night a couple times each month. Consider premarital counseling or couples’ therapy to ensure your communication remains clear and your vision for the big day includes input from both sides.
Hire a pro. It’s ok to ask for help. In fact, hiring someone whose sole responsibility it is to create a magical wedding experience is usually money well spent. Decide which responsibilities you can handle as a couple, then turn to an experienced wedding planner to tackle the rest of the list.
Create a budget reserve. Couples say creating and sticking to the wedding-planning budget is the biggest contributing factor to stress. To avoid the budget blues, create a reserve that allows you to pay for the unexpected or overages. A great way to build this reserve is to ask for gift cards or cash in lieu of gifts for the engagement party.
Take a breather. If you can feel the stress and tension rising in your body, take a moment to clear your mind and breathe calmly. Take three deep breaths and calm your heart rate. If you need to walk away from a conversation or a situation to gather your thoughts, do it! You’re planning for a life with your partner, not just one day, so keep the big picture in mind.
]]>Some traditional wedding colors found their way onto the list, and bright fresh colors complete the most anticipated wedding colors for 2020, based on the pantone guides. Whether you’re thinking an outdoor, floral-filled backdrop or plan to share your nuptials in your family church, you’ll want to consider one of these amazing color schemes.
Gender-neutral Neo Mint
Spring and summer weddings will be filled with this beautiful mint green hue. Neo mint is the gender-neutral pastel green that offers a fresh take to your big day. Add a natural color that is a good fit for the entire wedding party.
Turning to purples and pinks can quickly turn into a flower girl’s dream, but for your bridal party (and groomsmen), you need a more mature hue. Deep Purple is the mature color you need to add flavor to your wedding without creating a juvenile color scheme. This royal color adds a touch of grandeur and glam to your nuptials celebration.
Purist Blue
Purist blue is a softer take on one of the core colors of the Pantone color pallet. Veering away from the cobalt blue and deep navy, this hue is a mix of blue and gray offering an easy color to wear and to incorporate into your wedding décor. It’s an optimistic shade that doesn’t strike a specific emotion in your wedding guests. The color is relaxed and inviting.
A softer approach to coral is Pantone’s Cantaloupe. For your 2020 spring or summer wedding, the sweet flavor is ideal for both genders and creates a transitional color between people and nature. The milky orange hue is ideal for ribbons, flowers, dresses and more. The upbeat color will be popular for 2020 brides.
A mix between bright yellow and mustard yellow is a comfortable fall color, Mellow Yellow. New brands and social media influencers are big into this yellow hue. It is a noticeable color that immediately offers comfort because it simulates a sunrise or sunset. While this yellow color is ideal for fall, it can easily be used throughout the year.
]]>If you’re wearing the ring and planning your big day, don’t skip over the engagement photos. Fall makes for the perfect backdrop to beautifully colored engagement photos. Whether you’re creating invitations for an engagement party, announcements, or just want to remember the moment, our fall engagement photo ideas will help you create cozy memories.
Fall Foliage
Find the perfect fall foliage to include in your engagement photos. A tree full of bright golden yellow or rich red leaves makes the ideal scene for your fall pictures. Ask the photographer for the traditional tight shots, but a picture that includes the entire tree can make a great keepsake.
Capture The Sunset
Is there anything more beautiful than a sunset in the fall? As the sun’s rays highlight the autumn colors, nature is creating your backdrop. The beams of light will look stunning pouring through the colorful leaves. Ask your photographer for the best locations for sunset photos.
Party Of Three
If you have a fur baby, bring them along! A few shots with your favorite four-legged family member is ideal for fall engagement photos. Take a walk in the park or choose one of your favorite spots to spend the afternoon.
Stay Warm
Don’t miss this chance to get cozy with your partner. Grab a blanket and snuggle together to create a comfy photo shoot. Add a cup of coffee or fireplace in the background and you’ve assembled the best fall photo scheme!
Include Water
Summer engagement photos aren’t the only ones that can include beautiful bodies of water. If you have a lake or river in your area, ask the photographer for the best times to capture the scenic backdrop. Find a rock, bench, or dock to host your photos.
Dress Accordingly
Fall wardrobe is camera-friendly and we’re in love with plaids and fall colors. Deep, rich colors can stand out in your photos, especially against a rustic or natural background. While we won’t encourage you to grab matching ensembles, we’re all for fall outfits that are perfectly balanced.
Rustic Backdrop
What do a barn, old train station, or aging bridge have in common? They all make for a scenic fall engagement photo shoot. Look for rustic backdrops around your town or bring some of your own props, like old bicycles or lanterns.
Snap the best fall engagement photos with these ideas. Include the bright fall foliage, beautiful sunset, and try to stay warm. Your engagement announcements will make your friends want to grab a hot chocolate and cozy up next to the fireplace.

Celebrate The Engagement
Getting engaged is a big deal! Don’t miss this moment with your partner by rushing into bachelorette party planning. Take some time to tell your family, snap a ring selfie 💍, and celebrate this part of your journey. Planning too soon may mean you’re inviting besties to party before they even knew you said yes. So, schedule your engagement photos, order the cutest ring dish, and make memories with your future partner before skipping ahead to party central.
Give Time To Plan
For bachelorette party girls who will also attend your wedding, getting enough vacation time and travel cash together for both events can be difficult if everything is scheduled close together. While you don’t want to plan the party too far out, you also want to avoid having the celebratory weekend too close to the wedding. You’ll want to give your party guests a month or two advanced notice, especially if they’re traveling to you or it’s a destination bachelorette party. Planning your bachelorette night too close to your nuptials may mean you’re partying with fewer girls than you had hoped.
Night Before ‘I Do’
Having the bachelorette party the night before your wedding is simply a bad idea. Even if you plan months in advance, your mind is going to be consumed with the wedding and last-minute tasks. You’ll want to have a good time but will find it impossible to be in the moment. Resist the urge to have a bachelorette party the night before your wedding. No one wants to see the tired, hangover-induced version of you walking down the aisle.
Best Bachelorette Party Time
Celebrate your last weeks of being single with your girls approximately one to four months before the wedding. This timeline allows guests to budget for both the party and the nuptials and ensure they can travel for both if needed. Having your bachelorette party one to four months ahead of the wedding also means you can concentrate on the details of the big day and not worry about cramming too much into your wedding weekend.
]]>Today’s modern bride is finding creative ways to keep the tradition alive, but with a contemporary twist. While we love flowers (what girl doesn’t, really?), we’re big fans of creating a statement piece with your bridal bouquet. If you’re planning a wedding and looking for ways to incorporate your unique style, we’ve got you covered with these non-floral bridal bouquet ideas.
Vintage Brooch Bridal Bouquet
Are the jewelry boxes in your family overflowing with vintage brooches? Turn your “something old” into a colorful display of brooches worn over the decades by the women in your family. Don’t get stuck on a color theme or size of the pins. Different is best and creates the most memorable bouquet. (Photo Credit: magpieweddings.com)
Fern Wedding Bouquet
For the intensely modern or minimalist bride, a fern wedding bouquet is a fresh way to hold to the tradition while representing your taste. The shades of green offer a bit of color, while the varying shapes of leaves add texture to the bride’s gown. (Photo Credit: weddingoamnia.com)
Pearl Wedding Bouquet
The pearl has been noted in history to symbolize a number of desirable characteristics. Pearls are believed to offer protection, strengthen relationships, and symbolize purity, generosity, and loyalty. A pearl bouquet is perfect for an antique wedding theme, and thanks to the many colors of artificial pearls, you can incorporate your wedding color palette. (Photo credit: aliexpress.com)
Succulent (Cacti) Wedding Bouquet
Forget the idea of a green, prickly plant and create a beautiful bridal bouquet with a variety of succulents. The bouquet is long-lasting and can include a variety of soft colors, like violet, yellow, soft pinks, blues and greens. (Photo credit: differentweddings.com)
Seashell Wedding Bouquet
Nothing has ever been so perfect as a seashell bridal bouquet for a wedding by the ocean. If you’re planning a destination wedding, you can order colored seashells to create your desired look, but if you live by the beach, spend an afternoon collecting shells. For starters, they’re free, and you’ll find a variety of shapes and colors that all work well together to create your bouquet. (Photo credit: diy-enthusiasts.com)
Cotton Wedding Bouquet
Perfect for a rustic, fall wedding, a cotton wedding bouquet gives you plenty of room to work in pops of color from berries, leaves or other plants. Wrap the bouquet in a burlap fabric to complete the look. (Photo credit: dawnq.com)
After spending all that time creating a custom bridal bouquet, we don’t blame you if you’re not thrilled with the idea of throwing it into a sea of single ladies. If you want to keep your bridal bouquet, be sure to bring along a traditional floral bouquet so you do have something to toss into the crowd.
]]>The wedding décor doesn’t need to be complicated, or expensive. With a little creativity, you can build the reception of your dreams. We have a few tips to help along the way.
Non-floral Centerpieces
The average wedding florist can cost upwards of $1,300. By getting creative with your reception centerpieces, you can amplify your wedding theme and avoid the high floral cost. Use pieces that reflect the feel of the wedding and yours and your partner’s unique style. Old photos, books, wine bottles, lanterns or geometric table décor can create a beautiful focal point (and we bet your guests won’t even miss the flowers).
Use Plenty Of String Lights
The right lighting can create a magical glow with minimal décor. Create a festive vibe and instantly up the romance with soft light strategically hung around the reception area. If you’re hosting an outdoor reception, wrap the lights around trees or drape them from other pieces of décor. Intertwine the lights with centerpiece objects to add a glow to each table.
Use Your Own Belongings
When it fits your theme, bring items from your own home (or borrow from your besties) to decorate the reception space. From furniture and candles to home décor and picture frames, if the items you already own can be used at the reception, why pay for something new?
Stock The Bar Yourself
Rather than hiring a company to bring in all the beer, wine and liquor, head to your local bulk store and buy what you need. You’ll save tons on liquor costs and can still hire a reputable bar tender from sites like Thumbstack and Gigmasters.
Buy Used Décor Or Rent
While you want your reception to be stunning, the truth is, most of the decorations will go to waste following the event. Check your local online buy, sell and trade sites like Facebook Marketplace for décor items that still have value from other weddings or parties. Consider reselling your items once the wedding is complete to recoup some cash. For items you couldn’t find online, visit your local party décor rental shop. It will be cheaper to rent the items for a few hours than buy all new.
Drape Fabric
Stock up on fabric that matches your wedding colors to drape throughout the reception area. A sheer material or tulle can be used to set a romantic, whimsical scene. You don’t have to be Martha Stewart to get it right. Use ribbon to secure the fabric and enhance with other décor – like lights or greenery – if fitting.
Create Your Own Photo Booth
Set up a fun photo booth for reception guests. By using a blank wall or creating a cheap backdrop from palettes, a covered or painted piece of plywood or hanging curtains, you can instantly create the ideal space. Use string lights to add the perfect glow and offer photo props like picture frames, hats, and funny signs attached to sticks. Add a handmade sign to the area that encourages your guests to share their photo booth pics with your wedding hashtag.

]]>Want to get the party started sooner? Let’s rearrange the wedding order of events and start with the cocktail hour. If you’re hosting a pre-ceremony cocktail hour, we have a few tips to keep things enjoyable and help customize your Big Day to your unique personality.
Go For A Light Signature Cocktail
You want your guests to mingle (not get sauced) before the ceremony, so keep the cocktails light. Go for a fruity wine spritzer or mojito. These drinks are easy to sip and refreshing. Guests will enjoy themselves ahead of the ceremony and still be able to pay attention.
Offer Some Snacks
Have food available any time alcohol is served for an extended period of time. Your pre-ceremony cocktail hour should include snacks. Choose a few options that pair well with your theme and will give your guests just enough to hold them over until the dinner reception. Some of our favorite cocktail hour snacks include:
Set A 60 Minute Max
A cocktail hour that extends into the 90-minute mark may be ok before dinner, but as a pre-ceremony occasion, keep it between 45 and 60 minutes. You don’t want guests becoming impatient, nor do you want to give them too much time to sip too many drinks.
Plan For The Ceremony Shift
Making the shift from the cocktail hour into the ceremony will take some planning. Make sure the bar tenders and servers have a specific time to stop serving your guests. Once the bar is closed, ask the venue staff to direct guests toward the ceremony space. It’s best to have the venues close to one another for an easy, timely transition. Have music queued to signal that it’s time for guests to take their seats.
Make Plans To Be Seen Before The Ceremony
Family and guests will mingle, speak to your parents and want to congratulate you. Be ok with being seen ahead of the ceremony. While guests will see your gown before your big walk down the aisle, they won’t see all the accessories. Skip the veil and bridal jewelry. Step away from the cocktail hour 10 to 15 minutes ahead of the ceremony so you can add your bling and touch up your makeup.
Since the cocktail hour will be ahead of the ceremony, plan for a brief getaway with your bridal party, besties and parents so you can celebrate together before heading into the reception dinner. Grab a bottle of champagne for a quick celebratory toast and then dance the night away!
]]>With just a few pre-planning steps, you can create an unforgettable night that carries you and your entourage from planning mode to wedding party mode. From the most common rehearsal dinner questions to unconventional ideas, we’re helping you plan the night.
Who pays for the rehearsal dinner?
Typically, the side of the family that is not contributing to the wedding cost will pay for the rehearsal dinner. However, it’s not uncommon for the couple to cover the cost or the two families to split the bill. The average cost of a rehearsal dinner is $1,330, so if you’re covering the dinner tab, be sure to work it into your wedding budget.
Who attends the rehearsal dinner?
You can customize the rehearsal dinner guest list however you would like. Keep it small for a more intimate setting or extend invites to family and friends not in the wedding so they still feel involved. While you get to create the guest list, most couples will create an evening based on their wedding.
For example, if you’re hosting a destination wedding, nearly all of your guests will be invited. For traditional weddings, it’s common to invite out-of-town guests so you can spend quality time with them ahead of the wedding. If the guest list becomes overwhelming, think outside the box. Host a small rehearsal dinner, but invite everyone to an after-party at a local pub.
Are invitations required?
Skip the invitations if you’re hosting an intimate rehearsal dinner. For an event planned for immediate family and friends, just make sure everyone is on the same page with the location and time. For a large rehearsal dinner, invitations may be the easiest way to keep track of who’s coming. If your wedding weekend is a formal event, opt for paper invitations. If you’re keeping it casual, create an e-vite.
If you go with paper invitations, send them about one month in advance. It will give your invitees plenty of time to plan and RSVP.
When is the rehearsal dinner?
The rehearsal dinner is typically planned immediately following the ceremony walk-through. Once all wedding party members have practiced for the nuptials, you all gather with other friends and family and enjoy a meal. In most cases, the rehearsal dinner is planned one or two nights ahead of the wedding.
Rehearsal dinner “thank you”
Whether your rehearsal dinner is large or small, take the time to make a toast to thank your family and friends for their support and love in carrying you into the next chapter of life. If you plan bridesmaid gifts and groomsmen gifts, hand those out while dessert is being served. Consider opening the floor to any other toasts or words of wisdom to the bride and groom.
Rehearsal dinner themes
For the traditionalists, a formal, sit-down meal is ideal, but that isn’t the case for everyone! For couples who want to break formalities and lighten up the rehearsal dinner, we have a few ideas:
What to wear to the rehearsal dinner?
The bride and groom’s wardrobe should mirror the formality of the dinner. That said, wear something that makes you feel good and bride-like. Go for a white dress, romper or blouse and slacks / shorts. Even if your event is casual, dress up your look a bit.
After all that planning, it’s time to enjoy your rehearsal dinner with family and friends. Take in the memories, good food and laughter. It’s the kick-off night to your spectacular wedding weekend!

We get it. It is your Big Day, but when it comes to crowd pleasing tunes, you and the groom may need to step outside your comfort zone. Your favorite playlist may not exactly be fan favorites. But no worries! We’re helping you determine if your wedding play list is a hit or miss with these good music qualifiers:

When it’s time to celebrate, the last thing you want to worry about is whether guests are enjoying the music. Go with these popular favorites, mix in a few of your own choices, and allow the guests to make requests to the band or DJ.
]]>While you’ll want to include awesome surprises for the party, you’ll want to get the bride’s take on a few things. Ask her if she has any must-haves or any restrictions for the party. You’ll also want to get the guest list from the bride. Just because she was forced to invite them to the wedding because of family ties, doesn’t mean she want to spend her night of fun with them.
Once you have the bride’s approved guest list, it’s time to reach out. Ask the group for a couple sets of dates that could work for the party. You’ll also want to check on everyone’s budget. Some guest may be up for forking over enough cash for a weekend get-a-way, while others need to keep in low-key. Get an idea of funds available so you know how big to make the bash.
The theme will help you tie in decorations, activities, and even the location. Be sure to choose a hashtag for all the photos you’re willing to share on social media.
You’ll have a list of to-do items before the party day, so keep up with everything on a timeline. Once you have the theme and date set, send a save-the-date reminder to all the guests. Prior to the event you’ll want to give yourself time to plan party gifts, book the venue, buy tickets, make reservations, order invitations, and collect all of your bachelorette party décor items.
If you’re planning to hit up a restaurant or theatre, make sure you book your reservations well in advance. You don’t want to discover the bride’s favorite restaurant doesn’t have availability a week before the party.
Get creative and make your own bachelorette party invitations or order a custom design online. Send an invitation to each guest with an RSVP phone and email so you can confirm the guest list.
The bachelorette party guests typically cover all costs for the bride. By this point you’ve already launched the conversation about cash and how much everyone can afford to budget. Give the guests options on how to pay so you will have the money up front and can cover all the costs ahead of the party.
After all that work, it’s time to relax and have a great time. Be sure you have the right party accessories so everyone feels a part of the bride tribe. Keep an eye on the bride and ensure she’s enjoying herself throughout the night (it is a celebration for her, after all).
The party will be here before you know it. Use our simple guide to help plan the bachelorette party and make it a great memory for the bride.
]]>Take Your Time
Before you jump into planning and start signing contracts with venues and photographers, talk with your partner to get an idea of what you both want. It’s important to set a budget before you commit to a specific vendor that you may later regret. Once you’ve decided on the budget, plan a few pieces of the wedding then take a break – you’ll both appreciate the breather between florists and cake testing.
Get Engagement Photos
Don’t skip the engagement photos. It’s a great way to celebrate the in-between period that can easily get lost in wedding planning. Find a location you both love and get a series of photos that showcase your personalities.
Choose Your Wedding Party
It can be tough singling out your top best friends, but asking your bridesmaids and groomsmen to be apart of your big day is something you’ll want to do fairly quickly. With wedding season just around the corner, you want them to save your date. Find the perfect way to ask them to join you at the alter.
Determine Your Wedding Size
Before you choose a venue, consider how many guests you want to invite. Whether you’re keeping it small or you’re going big, you’ll want to ensure your location is comfortable for all your guests. Once you have the guest count and budget, it’s time to choose a venue!
Visit Venues In Person
Pictures are great, but to ensure the venue is what you expect, visit in person. You want to ensure there’s space for your cocktail hour, wedding photos, and the reception. Consider where your guests will sit if it’s an outdoor wedding, where the food will be stored and parking for all your guests.
Build Your Wedding Registry
Whether you build a wedding website or keep it low key with a traditional registry, stick with the things you’ll actually use. That $400 vase is nice until it shatters in the move to your first home. Sit down with your partner to choose kitchenware, furniture, and décor that fits your style.
Skip Last Minute Changes
If possible, have your plans set in stone two to three months before the wedding date. You won’t want to spend the week before your wedding hunting down a caterer. Don’t be tempted by emerging trends. Once you’ve set your plans, stick with them. You’ll be happy you stayed with your first choice rather than following the crowd.
Congratulations on your engagement! Enjoy this time of celebrating your relationship with your partner. Don’t get caught up in trends or other people’s opinions. Stick with a reflection of you and your partner’s relationship and you’ll make your big day memorable.
